Teddy Cat Café opens in Denver

Posted

The Teddy Cat Café opened in December at 39 E. Florida Ave. in Denver’s Platt Park neighborhood.

The new business features handcrafted mercantile and playdates with adoptable cats. The goal is to alleviate pressure at the animal shelter and find more homes for adoptable cats, which wander the space at their leisure so people and potential adopters can interact with them.

Owner Sarah Thomas began volunteering at the Denver Animal Shelter in 2020 and eventually began fostering cats and kittens in her home. This prompted her to open Teddy Cat Café.

Playdates cost $13 per person for adults and $11 for children, older adults 60+, students and members of the military. Appointments are recommended but drop-ins are welcome.
