Jeff Jesmer (Max Berwin)

Residence: Northglenn

About: Jesmer is an actor and a set builder and designer. He enjoys acting because it allows him to “explore many shades of a single thought,” he said.

Quotable: “Working on an original role can be extremely challenging and extremely rewarding. The audience of ‘Fractured Moonlight’ will enjoy the story and the characters’ arcs. Some of them may also be able to recognize things from the play that have happened in their own lives and relate even deeper.”

Kelly Uhlenhopp (Shelly Shepard)

Residence: Denver

About: Uhlenhopp has been acting for 30 years. She believes female playwrights are underrepresented in general, “so it feels great to be able to put a powerful, human story from a local female playwright in front of audiences,” she said.

Quotable: “One of my favorite aspects of acting in live theatre is how the play and the performances blossom during the course of a run. I love making new discoveries every night and learning new things about my character all the way up to closing night.”

Katy Hollis (Zelda Shepard-Berwin)

Residence: Denver

About: Hollis, 18, has been acting since she was 9. Acting is a form of human connection for her, stating that “a single story can tie two souls together and act as the lifeline that proves no one is truly alone.”

Quotable: “‘Fractured Moonlight’ is the perfect play for And Toto too to come back with post-pandemic shutdowns because it is the type of work that will always leave its mark. After seeing this show, you will leave feeling heard, seen and understood in a world that has been far from understandable for the past year-and-a-half.”

Stevie Wise (Elvis Taylor)

Residence: Denver

About: Wise has been acting professionally since 2018. He enjoys “the atmosphere live theater brings, the increased heart rate and the butterflies you get right before going on stage. And just telling a story,” he said.

Quotable: “‘Fractured Moonlight’ is a good play because it’s about love, trying to understand one another and trying your best. Although sometimes your best isn’t always good enough at the moment, you have something to work towards. That’s really human, and I think most people will be able to connect with that.”
