Colorado politicians and residents took the stage at Civic Center park on March 7 to speak about John Hickenlooper’s successful runs as the mayor of Denver and governor of Colorado. Unity was the theme of many of the night’s speeches during Hickenlooper’s presidential campaign launch.

Former Denver Mayor Wellington Webb spoke about the power of community at the presidential campaign launch for John Hickenlooper. Webb called Hickenlooper the most qualified person to run for president in the history of the United States.

Mayor Michael B. Hancock started as a city council member in Denver the same year that John Hickenlooper was elected mayor of the city in 2003. Hickenlooper is a "rare combination of dreamer and doer in action," Hancock said during his speech.

Former Colorado governor John Hickenlooper made a stop in Denver last month to launch his presidential campaign. The rally at Civic Center park included speeches from Colorado politicians including current Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock and former mayor Wellington Webb. The event on March 7 started with a performance by Denver artist SuCh, followed by speeches. Hickenlooper took the stage and spoke about many of his successes in Colorado. After Hickenlooper finished his speech, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats finished the rallly with a short musical set.
