The eight-week Colorado Renaissance Festival kicks off its 43rd summer on Saturday, June 15, with a treasure trove of magic, artisans and entertainment in Larkspur, 30 minutes south of Denver and just north of Colorado Springs.
The event, which averages about 200,000 patrons each year, is set in a 30-acre village with 10 stages of non-stop entertainment, including jugglers, acrobatics, a village hypnotist and more. There is dancing and singing with musicians and plenty of opportunities to cheer for your favorite knight in the tournament joust.
The festival also offers a marketplace of more than 200 artisans, crafters, and vendors selling unique, handcrafted items. You can watch pottery throwing, glass blowing, leather-making and more. Food includes smoked turkey legs, marinated steak-on-a-stick, roasted chicken, stews, desserts, ale and wine.
